The bet (how to read a pick)
Every suggested bet shows the team to back, the exchange to use, the most to pay, and a button that opens that exact game. Pay that price or less; above it, the value may be gone.
Fair price (fair %)
The chance a team wins according to the sharpest sportsbook line we can get (Pinnacle when posted, otherwise DraftKings), with the book's built-in cut removed. Buying below the fair price is buying at a discount.
Example: Fair 55% and the exchange sells the team at 50¢: you're paying 50¢ for something worth about 55¢.
Gap in points (+3.5)
How many cents per $1 cheaper the team is than its fair price, after fees. +3.5 means about 3.5¢ of value on every $1 contract. Bigger is better.
Exchange vs sportsbook
A sportsbook (DraftKings, FanDuel) sets the odds and takes the other side of your bet. An exchange (Kalshi, Polymarket) matches you with other traders at prices shown in cents.
Yes / No
Every Kalshi contract has two sides. Buying Yes on "Nets win" bets the Nets win; buying No bets they don't. So a big No on one team is really a bet on the other team.
Sharp
A bettor or trader with a long, proven record of winning, usually by betting before prices move. A casual bettor is called a square.
Whale
A trader placing a very large bet. We flag every single Kalshi trade of $2,500 or more on today's games.
Example: $40K traded on the Nets at 52¢ = a whale backing the Nets.
